New Kid on the Phlox

20130728-114120.jpgPhlox may be evergreen or herbaceous, mat-forming or erect perennials or shrubs, with simple leaves and salver-shaped flowers in terminal clusters.

They come in pinks, whites, bluish purples and deep burgundies and are a great addition to any border. Preferring a fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade, they reach a height and spread of approximately 0.5-1m x 0.1-0.5m.

Plant them alongside Penstemons, Stipa tenuissima, Campanula and Echinaceas for a colourful, bee-attracting border.
